One rainy day, salaryman Amakusa Ryo is saved by a high school girl he doesn't know at the station. He later finds out that the girl is Arima Ichika. Ryo is somewhat of a womanizer and to repay her for saving him, he suggests giving her a kiss or going out on a date with her, in which Ichika tells him he's creepy. The chemistry Yurie Kozakai and Toshiyuki Toyonaga bring to it does a lot of the heavy lifting. It first aired in 2021. The timing in Koikimo is precise enough that even the throwaway lines land on a second watch. It knows exactly what it is, and does not try to be anything else.

Koikimo is the kind of thing you put on in the background and end up fully watching. If you have already watched Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku, Koikimo is a natural next step.
