British television has a knack for doing more with less, and The Colour of Magic is a prime example. It's currently available in Australia on Amazon Prime Video, and in the US on Amazon Prime Video and fuboTV, so there's no reason to keep putting it off. A 7/10 rating means the audience agrees.

From the era when television started taking itself seriously as an art form, The Colour of Magic follows a path that stands out in a crowded field. As Rincewind involuntarily becomes a guide to the naive tourist Twoflower, they find themselves forced to flee the city of Ankh-Morpork to escape a terrible fire, and begin on a journey across the Disc. Unknown to them, their journey and fate is being decided by the Gods playing a board game the whole time. Christopher Lee and David Jason lead a cast that brings real weight to the material. It aired in 2008.

Ideal for when you want something light without wanting something stupid. The Colour of Magic respects its audience — rarer than it should be.
