A bizarre host of creatures and villains stand in their way, including the evil Mumm-Ra, Third Earth’s wicked ruler who will let nothing, including the ThunderCats, stop his tyrannical reign over the planet. The chemistry Max Mittelman and Erica Lindbeck bring to it does a lot of the heavy lifting. It was aired in 2020. ThunderCats Roar earns its laughs from character rather than situation, which is why it does not wear thin the way pure farce tends to. There is real craft here, even in the moments that do not fully land.
