Japanese production values give Tsurune a feel distinct from American and international alternatives. After target panic drives him from archery in middle school, Minato decides to return to the sport when his friends join the high school kyudo club. Yuto Uemura and Kensho Ono lead a cast that brings real weight to the material. The series ran for 2 seasons (2018–2023), building a story that gave its audience time to invest properly.

Animation fans will appreciate the craft, but Tsurune works equally well for viewers who don't typically seek out animated series — fans of KJ File will feel at home. The medium is secondary to the quality.
