Originally commissioned by YouTube, Vinland Saga quickly became exactly the kind of show that viewers rearrange their evenings for. For a thousand years, the Vikings have made quite a name and reputation for themselves as the strongest families with a thirst for violence. Thorfinn, the son of one of the Vikings' greatest warriors, spends his boyhood in a battlefield enhancing his skills in his adventure to redeem his most-desired revenge after his father was murdered. The series ran for 2 seasons (2019–2023), building a story that gave its audience time to invest properly.
Animation fans will appreciate the craft, but Vinland Saga works equally well for viewers who don't typically seek out animated series — fans of The Adventures of the Little Prince will feel at home. The medium is secondary to the quality.
