Korean production values give Yumi's Cells a feel distinct from American and international alternatives. Yumi is a 30-year old, ordinary woman who struggles with expressing her feelings. Told from the perspective of the many brain cells in her head, she experiences growth in both her love life, her career, and finds happiness in the small joys of everyday life. Kim Go-eun and Lee Yu-bi lead a cast that brings real weight to the material. The series ran for 3 seasons (2021–2026), building a story that gave its audience time to invest properly.
