TV Butler Pro ("we", "our", "us") is operated by Patrick McNally in Australia. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website (tvbutlerpro.com) and the TV Butler Pro app — at app.tvbutlerpro.com and in our iPhone and Android apps — how we use it, and your rights under the Australian Privacy Act 1988.
You don't need an account or any personal details to use TV Butler Pro. To make the app work, it stores the following, linked to a random ID created on your device (not your phone number, name or Apple/Google account):
If you choose to sign in (used for Butler Social and to keep your history across devices), we also store your email address, username, profile, the people you follow, and any reactions or comments you post. Sign-in codes are emailed to you through our email provider, Resend.
If you turn on episode alerts, notifications are delivered through OneSignal. If you search for a GIF to add to a reaction, your search words are sent to GIPHY to find matching GIFs.
We combine activity from everyone who uses TV Butler Pro into anonymous trend statistics — for example, which shows are most searched for in Australia this week, or which titles people look for but can't find on their services. Before your activity is used for these trends, your device ID is replaced with a scrambled code that can't be turned back into it, and any figure based on fewer than five people is removed.
These trends contain no names, email addresses or anything that identifies you. We may share or license them to businesses such as streaming services, TV and movie apps and media companies. We never sell your personal information.
The app uses cookies from Google Analytics (GA4) to measure how the app is used. TV Butler Pro is free, doesn't show ads, and doesn't run advertising or remarketing campaigns.

Content data (show titles, descriptions, cast, images) is sourced from The Movie Database (TMDB) via their API, and where-to-watch information comes from JustWatch through TMDB. This data is not personal information. TV Butler Pro uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
TV Butler Pro links to streaming services such as Netflix, Stan, Disney+, Prime Video and others. When you open these links you leave our app and are subject to the privacy policies of those services. We are not responsible for their data practices.
Some links to streaming services may be affiliate links. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details. No personal data is shared with affiliate networks beyond standard click tracking.
App data is stored in our own database on our hosting provider's servers in the United States. We keep it while you use TV Butler Pro and delete it when you ask us to (see below). Analytics data collected by Google is held on Google's platforms under its privacy policy; Google Analytics keeps data for 14 months by default.
If you use our website to see a simulation, send us a message or book a call, we collect your email address, name, company name and (only if you give it) your mobile number, plus your time zone and any details you include in a message or booking. If you ask us to send your simulation to a colleague, we use their email address only to send that one copy.
We use this information to show you the simulation, reply to you, arrange and remind you about calls, and follow up about our services. It's stored in our own database on our hosting provider's servers in the United States, and emails are delivered through our email service provider, Resend. If you choose a video call it takes place on Google Meet, under Google's privacy policy. We never sell or share your details with anyone else.
You can ask us to stop contacting you, or to delete your details, at any time by emailing support@tvbutlerpro.com.
Companies that connect their app or service to our recommendation engine send us viewing activity tagged with their own anonymous customer number — never names, email addresses or contact details — and we scramble that number again as soon as it arrives. How that data is used, kept and deleted is set out in each partner's agreement. Partner data is never shared with anyone, even in anonymous form, unless the partner chooses to join our insight network; if they do, only combined, anonymous trends are used, with nothing shown that has fewer than five people behind it.
TV Butler Pro is not directed at children under 13, and our app is rated 13+. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of any personal information we hold about you. To exercise these rights or to make a privacy complaint, contact us at the address below.
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
