What at first appears to be a radical success soon reveals itself to be a remedy potentially worse than the disease. Jared Leto and Matt Smith lead a cast that makes the ambitious moments land. Morbius came out in 2022. The rules of Morbius's world are consistent enough that the big swings never feel like cheating. There is real craft here, even in the moments that do not fully land.

For late-night viewing or a proper weekend binge, Morbius fits the bill. It has built its own audience without needing a direct comparison. A contained runtime means every scene is doing real work.
