Quickly and without warning, the citizens find themselves prisoners and their town under enemy occupation. Credit to Chris Hemsworth and Josh Peck for grounding it — this is a cast that earns the twists. It hit screens in 2012. The plot mechanics of Red Dawn never overwhelm the human cost underneath them. It knows exactly what it is, and does not try to be anything else.
