When another victim pops up at a nearby car garage, Frank knows that he is as close as he'll ever be to tracking down the elusive killer. Dennis Quaid and Danny Glover lead a cast that treats the material with real seriousness. It hit screens in 1997. What elevates Switchback is a refusal to let any character off the hook too easily. It knows exactly what it is, and does not try to be anything else.

Viewers drawn to character-driven storytelling will find plenty to sit with in Switchback. It stands on its own even without an obvious comparison point.
