As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance – leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr. The human element stays intact thanks to Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, who anchor every scene. The Amazing Spider-Man came out in 2012. What separates The Amazing Spider-Man from lesser genre entertainment is a willingness to let the concept cost the characters something. It knows exactly what it is, and does not try to be anything else.
