After killing the street thug responsible for her death, he finds himself in the middle of a war with the thug's brother, father, and their gang, who are equally hell-bent on getting even. What ensues is a tense back-and-forth game of vengeance. The writing gets a boost from Clive Standen and Theo Rossi, who sell every scene they're in. It hit screens in 2022. What distinguishes the best crime dramas from the rest is whether the character work can carry scenes where the mystery takes a breath — Vendetta passes that test consistently.
