Star Trek: Enterprise Season 2

2002 26 Episodes Sci-Fi & Fantasy · Action & Adventure ⭐ 8/10

Star Trek: Enterprise Season 2 has built a real following on and among viewers who want their sci-fi to think as hard as it looks. The 1-season run is exactly the right length for what it is doing. An 8/10 rating says what the writing already makes obvious: this one works. Scott Bakula anchors it with a performance that grounds the bigger ideas in something human. Start it whenever you need something guaranteed to land.

Star Trek: Enterprise Season 2 is not trying to be everything to everyone, and that focus is exactly what makes it work. The world-building is meticulous, but it is the characters who carry Star Trek: Enterprise Season 2 through its more ambitious moments. In one short year, Jonathan Archer, captain of the starship Enterprise NX-01, has made a name for himself and his crew, both with his Starfleet superiors and perhaps less favorably with mankind's alien neighbors. Scott Bakula and Jolene Blalock lead a cast that brings real weight to the material. It was aired in 2002. The rules of Star Trek: Enterprise Season 2's world are consistent enough that the big swings never feel like cheating. It rarely drops the ball, and when it does, it recovers fast.

For late-night viewing or a proper weekend binge, Star Trek: Enterprise Season 2 fits the bill. It rewards viewers regardless of what else is in their watch history. The complete run is available and best experienced without too much prior knowledge of where it goes. Scott Bakula anchors it with a performance that makes the more abstract moments feel personal. If you have been burned by ambitious sci-fi before, this is the exception.
