North America has been divided into four main quadrants. A power-hungry corporation has taken over the conventional prison system and made criminals the new law enforcers. The owner of that corporation, nanoscientist Eion Prescott, created a nano-virus called Onyx. Franzi Schissler and Frank Grillo lead a cast that brings real weight to the material. It was released in 2026. The world-building is meticulous enough to sustain multiple rewatches, with details early on that only make sense later. There is real craft here, even in the moments that do not fully land.

Kill Code is satisfying on multiple levels — something to watch and something to think about after. It rewards viewers regardless of what else is in their watch history. The complete film is available and best experienced without too much prior knowledge of where it goes. Franzi Schissler anchors it with a performance that makes the more abstract moments feel personal. If you have been burned by ambitious sci-fi before, this is the exception.
