Mob Town is not trying to be everything to everyone, and that focus is exactly what makes it work. Mob Town treats its mystery as a means, not an end in itself. Based on the true story of the notorious 1957 ‘mob summit’ in upstate New York. Spearheaded by Vito Genovese, more than 50 leaders of the organized crime syndicates from around the country converged on the sleepy town to discuss upcoming expansion plans. Their plans are foiled when local police trooper Ed Croswell discovers their activities and, consequently, exposes the mob to the American public. David Arquette and Danny A. Abeckaser lead a cast that gives the tension real weight. Mob Town came out in 2019. What makes Mob Town hold up is that the resolution matters less than how the characters get there. There is real craft here, even in the moments that do not fully land.

If you cannot walk away from a good mystery, Mob Town will keep you hooked. It rewards viewers regardless of what else is in their watch history.
